Under $100

Perfect Stocking Stuffer.  Osom Brand Socks are made 95% from discarded clothing in a special process that uses ZERO water and absolutely no dyes.  I have to admit, the company is quite remarkable and the socks are just adorable. ($16-$18 a pair)

Everyone needs a scarf.  They are great for blocking the wind in NYC or in place of a jacket in LA.  I love these by Michael Hanz, made from 100% brushed bamboo that feel just like a silk/cashmere blends.  And the scarves measure 3x5ft, great for around the neck, as a sarong or as a light travel blanket.  ($80)

Under $500

Have a wine lover on your list?  In 1989, Chateau Pontet-Canet completely transformed both their vineyard and their identity and switched to organic and biodynamic methods of wine growing and producing.  All vines are pesticide free, using old world ways of natural growing along with nad picking the grapes with the use of house and carriage instead of machines.  Their grapes are now more beautiful and more delicious making Pontet-Canet one of the most prestigious wines in Bordeaux.  ($269.99 a bottle for the 2010 vintage)

The Big Gift

The Lapis Zanjir Necklace from Pippa Small Jewelry.  This necklace made in conjunction with the Turquoise Mountain Institute which under the guide of master artisans, Afghan students are taught the process of jewelry and arts for free, bringing education and business opportunity to them.  Currently over half of the calligraphy and jewelry students are females.  Note: everything Pippa Small makes is beautiful AND ethical. ($1,820)
