The Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series

Foodies rejoice, once again we can count down the days until Christmas with the Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series. Learn more about this much-anticipated event that you won’t want to miss. Then book your tickets for a Meadowood dinner and help out a charitable cause as well.

The Resort

The renowned Meadowood Resort mixes the opulence of a private chalet with the amenities of a five-star resort. It is located in a private canyon within minutes of downtown St. Helena in Napa Valley. The shaded, secluded property has fewer than 100 well-appointed and private rooms. All guests have access to the on-site spa, an on-site fitness center, hiking trails, tennis courts, and of course, a daily wine reception. There’s even a croquet lawn! This is an amazing locale for the annual Meadowood dinner.

The on-site Restaurant at Meadowood is another big draw to the resort. It has three Michelin stars. Head chef Christopher Kostow is one of the most in-demand chefs in the Napa Valley area. He was also the recipient of the 2018 James Beard Nomination for Outstanding Chef. The Restaurant at Meadowood routinely fills reservations months in advance for their dining experiences. Guests can choose from a tasting menu in the main dining room or a counter menu at the Kitchen Counter experience. Both menus have the option of wine pairings as well. This is also where the Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series will be.

The Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series invites top guest chefs to partner with Chef Kostow. The event is also for an amazing cause.

This year’s celebration will benefit Saint Helena Preschool for All, Inc., a local non-profit organization providing scholarships to three and four-year-old children. The Restaurant at Meadowood will donate $2,000 in honor of each participating chef, plus 10 percent of every dinner ticket sold. In the spirit of the Holiday Season, guests are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to the event which will then be distributed to the Saint Helena Preschool for All, Inc. and to Fire Departments throughout the Napa Valley.

Guests can choose from a three-hour tasting menu. If you want a splurge, book a seat at the Kitchen Counter, in the heart of the action. Only four seats at the Kitchen Counter are available at any time. What a wonderful way to experience the Meadowood dinner.

The Chefs

The twelve guest chefs at this year’s Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series are a truly impressive roster of the world’s best chefs. Among them is James Lyle, chef-owner of Michelin-starred Lyle’s in London. Lyle’s made World’s 50 Best Restaurant List for its celebration of British food. Also joining in is Chef Jose Enrique of Puerto Rico. Known for his eponymous restaurant, he has been twice nominated for James Beard Awards. “Enrique has become Puerto Rico’s most decorated chef — an emissary for the hearty, mingled foods of his fertile homeland,” Eater critic Bill Addison wrote last year. There are also three female chefs participating this year, among them much-hyped Chef Jessica Largey.

Jessica Largey is the chef and owner of the highly anticipated SIMONE in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles…she was named a Zagat“30 Under 30”, StarChefs “Rising Star Chefs,” and Eater’s “Young Guns” in 2013. In 2014 she was named a San Francisco Chronicle “Rising Star Chef” and in 2015 was awarded the James Beard “Rising Star Chef of the Year.”

Also rounding out the list are Chefs Dave Pynt of Singapore, Kamilla Seidler of Denmark, Byung-Jin Kim of Korea, Wojciech Modest Amaro of Poland, Trevor Moran of Nashville, Justin Cogley of Carmel, Michael Tusk of San Francisco, Ana Ros of Slovenia, and Sota Atsumi of France.

The Meadowood Christmas Dinner Series is certainly an event no fine dining fan will want to miss. Be sure to order your tickets for the Meadowood dinner before they are gone. It’s especially popular because it supports such a good cause. For more Napa Valley experience, explore Private Wine Tastings in Napa Valley.
