Hold onto Summer with These Beautiful Rosés

It’s no secret that rosé wines are skyrocketing in popularity. Made from any number of grape varieties, these wines can range from pale blush to deeper crimson. Just like the color, the tastes can vary dramatically as well from sweet to quite dry. With so much to choose from it can be hard to decide which rosé is right for you, which is why we’ve rounded up our 6 favorite rosés to enjoy anytime of the year.

M de Minuty Rosé 2017

This dry rosé is almost translucent and stands out with flavors of peach and orange. The M de Minuty Rosé is made with a blend of Grenache and Cinsault from the Côtes de Provence region of France. The overall feel of the wine is smooth with a crisp aftertaste. It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, fresh vegetables, or apricot pie.

Bonterra Rosé, 2017

The inaugural vintage from Bonterra’s Grenache-based rosé takes a departure from the strawberry and peach undertones of most rosés. This organically grown wine has aromas of strawberry, key lime, rosewater and hints of pineapple, making it a truly unique.

This rosé is made from organic grapes, well-done. A dry, fresh wine with balanced acidity and low alcohol is perfect for an apero before brunch (a br’apero, I’ve coined this term and made it a thing, everyone thank me later). A beautiful wine from beautiful roots. Good with fresh fruit and a croissant. –JillBarth, author of L’occasion wine blog

Pair this dry rosé with salmon or Asian-fusion cuisine, or enjoy on its own for a summer evening treat.

Raimat Rosada Rosé, 2017

The Spanish Raimat Rosada Rosé is a smooth, not too acidic rosé. Created with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Tempranillo grapes, it is pleasant and fresh with a mild flavor and hints of cherry. It pairs perfectly with pasta, fish, or vegetables. Serve it at your next party, as this expensive tasting wine is surprisingly affordable at $12 a bottle.

The Domains Ott BY.OTT Rosé is a classic rosé from the Provence region in southeastern France – a place where wine has been made for over 2,600 years. This wine adds a bit of spice to the mix for a taste of something different.

Pale and pretty in crystal-clear pink with orange undertones. The nose is delicate and fruity with notes of white peach and apricot mixed with passion fruit and mango. The taste is full, fresh and crisp with echoes of the fruity aroma amplified by citrus zest and sweet spices (cinnamon and cardamom).

Domaines Ott is a regular on top wine lists, so their rosé is a can’t miss.

Underwood’s Rosé Bubbles

Oregon’s Underwood’s Rosé Bubbles sparkling rosé is ready-to-travel in an unexpected can! It is light and refreshing with hints of wild strawberry, fruit cocktail, and tart cherry. This sparkling rosé is perfect for picnics and making rosé-mosas, mimosas with sparkling rosé instead of champagne. This makes it the perfect rosé to enjoy over brunch!

Alìe 2017 Frescobaldi

A dry summer and just enough spring rain made for an optimal growing season for the Alìe 2017 Frescobaldi rosé.  It is made from blending Syrah and Vermentino grapes that are grown near the sea in the coastal town of Maremma, Italy. With flavors of wildflower, strawberry, and citrus peel, there’s an earthy mineral base that grounds the wine making it a lengthy, complex drink. Don’t confuse this rosé with a light spritzer, it’s strong enough to hold its own. Pair with heavily-spiced dishes.
