Highlights from the Geneva International Motor Show

The Geneva International Motor Show is one of the premier motor events. The 2019 show recently wrapped up, and it did not disappoint. From March 7 through March 17, auto enthusiasts were treated to a non-stop parade of the best that is available. Supercars, hypercars, and concept cars from both established and newly emerging brands made their debut on the world stage. Here is a look at some of the highlights from the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Known as the “Son of Valkyrie,” the Aston Martin Lagonda is the third hypercar for the maker, following the Valkyrie and Valkyrie AMR Pro. The AM-RB 003 is designed to be a spacious, mid-engined sports car. This car is designed with easy access that will make the vehicle suitable for everyday use. The AM-RB 003 is the first hybrid V6 engine developed by Aston Martin. The iconic luxury car’s partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies made this development possible.

Bentley has updated their top of the line Bentayga SUV model with the introduction of the Speed. This new model for 2019 has an updated version of the high performing 6.0 liter W12 engine. This luxury crossover lives up to its name. The Speed can deliver 635 hp and will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. This one was definitely a head turner at the Geneva International Motor Show.

This one-off is not for sale. It has already sold to a collector for $11 million. This head-turning vehicle is from the luxury carmaker Bugatti in celebration of their 110th anniversary. No one can match La Voiture Noire in terms of design and quality. The name is a nod to Bugatti’s all-black variant of the Type 57SC. The engine is an 8.0 liter W16 which generates 1,500 hp. It was a treat for many attendees of the Geneva Motor Show to see this exclusive vehicle in person.

Ferrari F8 Tributo

Just the name “Ferrari” draws a buzz, so the introduction of a new car to the powerhouse brand’s line brings in the crowds. The F8 Tributo is the successor to the 488 GTB. The V8 rear-mid engine packs 720 hp. The Ferrari F8 Tributo is lighter than the 488 GTB but produces more horsepower. The vehicle zooms from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 340 kilometers per hour. The uncompromising design is classic Ferrari.

Lamborghini – Huracán EVO Spyder

This vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show represents the most natural evolution of the most successful V10 in Lamborghini history. The Huracan EVO Spyder is the open version of the Huracan EVO Coupe launched at the beginning of the year. The EVO Spyder will do 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. It can do 0-200 km/h in 9.3 seconds. The four-wheel steering system, as well as the other technological developments implemented by Lamborghini, provide the driver with incredible control and agility.

Volkswagen – ID. Buggy

Volkswagon generated a great deal of buzz at the Geneva International Motor show with the introduction of their first-ever all-electric model that was inspired by a dune buggy. The design looks like the popular US dune buggies that were driven all over beaches in the 1960s and 1970s. The concept comes into the new century with an all-electric motor. The Volkswagen ID. Buggy is based on the Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB). Nostalgia meets modern technology with this fun new car.

Once again, the Geneva International Motor Show did not disappoint enthusiasts. Next year’s Geneva Motor Show will be March 5-15, 2019, so mark your calendars now and make plans to attend this fan-favorite car show.
