Top Five Romantic Dinner Restaurants in Los Angeles

Love is alive in Los Angeles and is celebrated all over the bustling city in many ways. One of our favorites? A romantic dinner, and in Los Angeles, your options are plentiful. We’ve chosen five Los Angeles restaurants we feel are perfect for a romantic dinner for you and that special person.

Gwen

Chef Curtis Stone’s Gwen is more than a restaurant, it features a retail meat shop and an in-house butchery. The full-service restaurant portion of Gwen is polished, chic, and very romantic. One of the most romantic features is that they serve tasting menus which means lots of sharing with your date.

Often the best culinary experiences start without having to make any decisions other than just showing up. At Gwen, we take that idea to heart and craft an elegant menu with the best of what’s available from our butcher shop and our California farmers.

Reservations are recommended.

Redbird

As part of the renaissance of downtown Los Angeles, Redbird provides a level of innovation with their New American cuisine that they pair with craft cocktails in an historic setting. Leading the charge is both Chef Neal Fraser and Amy Knoll Fraser

Modern American cuisine that is refined yet approachable and highlights the multi-cultural influences of Fraser’s native city – Los Angeles

They describe the location and decor as “carved into one of the city’s most historic architectural gems, inside the former rectory building of Vibiana – the cathedral-turned-event-venue”. Reservations are recommended.

Perch

While Perch has become synonymous with date night in Downtown Los Angeles, it still has to be included in this list. It earned its reputation because it is most definitely romantic with its rooftop outdoor patio and a firepit overlooking the downtown skyline. Its fare is French-inspired.

Executive Chef Gerardo Benitez has created a playful menu inspired by French culinary classics utilizing the freshest of seasonal ingredients. The menu consists of items that are meant to be shared as well as meals that stand boldly alone.

It’s about romance, so opt for sharing. Reservations are recommended.

Commissary

A restaurant that describes itself as “a bridge between different socio-economic stratas” and “ a backyard BBQ celebrating the farms and the streets.” Located in Koreatown by the pool in The Line Hotel and led by Executive Chef Diego Echavarria, Commissary boldly lists their top hits or most popular items as “Food: Faackitas, Rice Bowls, Charred Carrots, Cauliflower Tempura, Green Curry Eggplant, Sticky Date Pudding” and “Drinks: Pimps Cup, Gin & Juice”. The vibe of Commissary is laid back yet at the same time it has an energetic feel. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are suggested. s

Faith & Flower

Faith & Flower calls itself a vintage-inspired New American restaurant serving rustic dishes, raw-bar fare, and craft cocktails. They call their style Rustic Californian Cuisine. It’s also been called one of Los Angeles’ most stylish restaurants and rightly so, featuring chandeliers and midcentury modern furniture, it is hip and oh so LA. With Wine Director Jared Hooper and Director of Bar Programs Ryan Wainwright creating the tone for the restaurant, you’re certainly in for an art deco-style romantic evening hearkening back to the gilded age. Reservations aren’t required, but are a good idea.

Be smart with your romantic dinner by booking ahead. So, tell us, which of our picks appeals most to you? If you’re up for something a little more adventurous you might want to try one of these unique concept restaurants in Los Angeles.
