Fashion and politics have went hand in hand for centuries. Fashion has been at various times a marker of aristocracy to separate the classes and also a symbol of rebellion to unify the masses. In recent years, fashion designers have used fashion week runway shows as a kind of political platform. Some designers make bold declarations by printing slogans on garments. Others make more subtle statements by making deliberate choices of the models they send down the catwalk.
