Academy Award

Around 1950, Bulova entered into an exclusive contract with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the rights to use the words “Academy Award” and “Oscar” in their products.  Soon after Bulova began producing the popular Academy Award model watches.  Nearly 40 different models debuted over the years, and they are now a favorite with collectors. The Bulova Academy Award watches were produced until approximately 1954. Joseph Bulova Collection: The Most Expensive Bulova Watch
