The New Luxury: 9 Design Inspirations for Condo Living

For those who wish to live in the middle of it all, condo living is the best way to maintain proximity to the city without sacrificing luxury. A new condo is like a blank canvas, waiting for you to add your personal touches to it.  Here are several modern ideas that will provide you with design inspiration for condo living.

JW Renders

JW Renders is short for Just With Renders.  This creative boutique studio focuses on interior and furniture 3D visualizations to provide clients with top notch interior design services. The brilliance behind JW Renders is Javier Wainstein, an Argentian born student of architecture.  He studied industrial design on UBA and has been developing his skills as a 3D artist for more than ten years.  Here is a glimpse at some of his recent projects, which will inspire your condo design.

This beautiful night scene is set in a sleek London home.  The modern black chairs are set around a low, stone coffee table that is unexpected in design but pairs beautifully with the chairs.  This room is comfortable without being too casual.  The space invites you to sit a while as you enjoy your company and the view from the large windows.

This dining room in Belgium shows how to make great use of the high ceilings often found in condos.  The large windows illuminate the long wood table with modular styled seats.  A simple floor covering grounds the dining set to the scene.  The hanging light fixture parallels the table and will provide even lighting for dinner guests, but the silhouette is sleek enough that the fixture does not compete with the windows. An extra large canvas adds some interest and drama to the large wall behind the table.

The texture on the walls and floor in this room are both understated and eye catching.  This room has a very natural feel to it thanks to the earth tones and the grain of the wood that is exposed in the furniture.  The legs of the furniture pieces along with the side table all add to the modernly rustic appeal of this space.

This light filled bedroom in a Miami condo is an example of clean, modern lines.  The simple headboard enhances the luminous stone-like wall behind it, which reflects light from the large windows beautifully.  The rocking lounger is contemporary and comfortable, and provides a welcoming space for relaxing while enjoying the view.

TAO Designs

TAO Design is a full service architectural, interior, and urban design firm.  They are known for creating original, innovative, and functional solutions for their clients.  Their portfolio shows how modern design can be beautiful as well as functional.  Their design philosophy is “all about simplicity and creativity which results in a strong impression. A good mix of Form and Function. Architecture and interiors that mesmerizes all visions, and encourages people to witness it. Inspiration from ‘random responses’ of life – one that inspires us to create a design strategy that will convey our clients’ story, vision, and brand values.”

Black marble ties the dining table to the walls, creating a cohesive feel to the space.  The beautiful lights add to the artistry in this home.

A large gravity defying floor-to-ceiling sculpture swirls up towards the ceiling around the purple sofa. Recessed lighting illuminates this spectacular piece. This is a fabulous way to add art to the design of your condo, as it incorporates with the furniture layout.

These images are from a dramatic penthouse design in Moscow, Russia.  TAO Design makes incredible use of the vast wall space to add texture and character to each room in this dwelling.  Dramatic lighting, both overhead and recessed in the walls and floors, add to the ambiance.

Hallways and connections between spaces are areas of the home that many of us overlook, but not by TAO Designs.  Geometric floor tile designs, wall panels with recessed lights, and dramatic light elements make one take notice of the hallways in this penthouse.
