Ultra-luxury automotive brands such as Lamborghini, Maserati, and Bentley have been powerhouses for decades and show no signs of slowing down. Strong demand for each of these brands, coupled with excellent sales records, have led to many exciting innovations. Here is why we are excited about these luxury car brands this year.
The history of Lamborghini is the story of a dream come true. The luxury automobile company’s founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, sought to create the perfect auto. Mission accomplished. (Or, using their current social media hashtag, #SinceWeMadeItPossible.) In just fifty years, Lamborghini has created cars that people covet and vehicular masterpieces that have made history. What does Automobili Lamborghini have in store for auto enthusiasts next? Only the world’s fastest SUV.
The Lamborghini Urus premiered at the brand’s Sant’Agata headquarters in Bologna. The Urus is set to double to company’s production and, more importantly to car enthusiasts, hit the market as the fastest SUV in the world. The Urus tops out at 190 mph and can reach 62 mph in 3.6 seconds. Its speed comes from a 650-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is Lamborghini’s first V8 in nearly 30 years. The turbocharged engine offers 627 lb-ft of torque. Lamborghini opted for a turbo V8 for the Urus to provide more low-end torque for off-roading.
The SUV can comfortable seat five and comes with lavish interiors. Italian craftsmanship meets state of the art technology to deliver a luxurious driving experience. The instrument panel has three TFT screens, one for the instruments, one for infotainment, and one for comfort functions. The interior can be customized by the owner as desired. Urus features the largest range of customization options available to date on a Lamborghini vehicle.
The Italian luxury automobile manufacturer Maserati began in 1914 with a mission to “build ultra-luxury performance automobiles with timeless Italian style, accommodating bespoke interiors, and effortless, signature sounding power”. The Maserati tagline is “Luxury, sports and style cast in exclusive cars”. True to their mission, Maserati is developing ultra luxury performance with the world premiere of the Maserati Levante Trofeo.
It’s proof that when you play with the elements you end up in a storm”, says Maserati CEO Tim Kuniskis. “In the case of Trofeo, the engineers and designers in Modena knew that the driveline parameters were more than able to cope with additional power and they also knew that Maserati had access to the finest engines on earth. So, they were up to the challenge of making the finest luxury SUV also one of the fastest.
This vehicle is the first Maserati Levante built around a V8 engine. Introduced in March at the New York International Auto Show, the Trofeo is the Maserati answer to the SUV. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, and it has a top speed of over 300 km/h. The 3.8 liter Twin Turbo V8 engine delivers 590 hp at 6,250 rpm and 730 Nm of peak torque at 2,250 – 5,000 rpm. The Trofeo maintains Maserati’s supercar performance levels.
The Levante Trofeo launch edition is available in eight exterior colors. The interior offers more options for individualization. The Trofeo sport seats are made of natural “Pieno Fiore” leather and available in black, tan, or red with contrast stitching. An exclusive option for the launch edition is black leather with blue or yellow stitching. Another exciting exclusive for launch edition buyers is a serialized badge in the center console that features the customer’s name.
Founded as Bentley Motors Limited by W.O. Bentley in 1919, this British auto manufacturer produces high performing luxury cars and SUVs. The name rose to prominence early on by winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans repeatedly. Bentley Motors recently introduced the new Bentayga V8 at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show.
The new V8 model from Bentley motors is a beautiful fusion of luxury with power. Sporty and fun to drive, the Bentayga is fully customizable on demand. A 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine developes 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft. (770 Nm) of torque. The most performance oriented model in the line to date, the Bentayga can go from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds), and on to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). The new-generation engine helps give the Bentayga V8 a range of 464 miles (746 km), with CO2 emissions of 260 g/km.
The interior of the Bentayga maintains the brand’s tradition of superb detailing and fine, handcrafted precision. A new interior option with this vehicle is a high-gloss carbon-fibre finish. A wood and hide trimmed steering wheel is another exclusively new option. The console features state of the art driver assistance systems and infotainment features. The Bentayga V8 is also available with Bentley Dynamic Ride, which is the automotive world’s first electric active roll control technology. Optional carbon-ceramic brakes are another safety minded added feature.
