Alo Restaurant

Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants designated Alo Restaurant as its number one restaurant in the entire country in 2017. It is not hard to see why when dining here.

Alo is a contemporary French restaurant and cocktail bar located atop a heritage building in downtown Toronto. We celebrate the finest in seasonal ingredients paired with genuine hospitality. Our dining room offers blind, multi-course tasting menus, which our sommeliers complement with distinctive wines from both familiar and little-known regions and producers. Our barroom, which accepts walk-ins, features classically-inspired cocktails and a sharing-style, à la carte menu consisting of raw seafood, meat-based entrées, vegetable-focused sides and desserts.

Alo offers a choice of Dining Room or Kitchen Counter dining. It also accepts bookings in two-month blocks, so pre-booking is a must. Be sure to add this to your list of restaurants in Toronto that you don’t want to miss!

Don Alfonso 1890

Toronto recently celebrated the opening of the first North American location of world-renowned Michelin Star Chefs Alfonso and Ernesto Iaccarino’s Don Alfonso 1890. Perhaps it will be the first of many Michelin star restaurants in Toronto in future years.

Showcasing the incredible cuisine of Chef Ernesto Iaccarino and the wonderful fresh flavors of the Amalfi coast, Don Alfonso 1890 is an internationally recognized award-winning concept with locations in Sant’Agata, Amalfi Coast, Italy; Levello, Basilicata, Italy; Helena Bay, New Zealand; Macau, China and now Toronto.  Don Alfonso 1890’s cuisine is characterized by its modernity, Mediterranean flare and the exceptional quality of the raw materials used.

The restaurant is located in the historic Consumer’s Gas Building downtown. The decor is elegant and above all, sophisticated. It acts as a backdrop to the food and creates a truly unique dining experience. Diners can choose from an a la carte menu in the lounge. For the full experience, also try the eight-course tasting menu in the dining room accompanied by molecular cocktails. Toronto restaurants do not get must better than this!

GEORGE on Queen

Widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in Toronto is GEORGE on Queen. Because of this, this popular restaurant books up quickly.

GEORGE invites guests to explore the bold flavors and textures of Executive Chef Lorenzo Loseto’s ‘Toronto Cuisine.’ Offering a range of options from Chef Loseto’s seasonal lunch and dinner menus, guests can choose from an àla carte tasting or GEORGE’s signature Chef’s Choice–three or four-course lunch or five, seven and ten-course dinner. Chef’s Choice tastings are custom-written based on guest’s allergies, restrictions, and preferences. Chef’s Choice tastings are double-sided and include up to 20 different dishes — depending on the tasting selected — each accompanied by wines curated by our sommelier team.

In addition to delightful cuisine, it has also recently been awarded a ‘Best of’ Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator. The vibrantly decorated space is located in a convenient downtown location perfect for travelers.

Richmond Station

Finally, Richmond Station offers Michelin-quality dining in a more relaxed, casual atmosphere. It’s located in the busy downtown area by the intersection of Richmond and Yonge Streets.

Richmond Station is a neighborhood restaurant. We grew up with a passion for those romantic neighborhood spots where you could reliably grab a bite to eat once a month, two nights in a row or whenever the fridge was bare. A neighborhood spot means the owners are around most days, the staff maintain their position for years and there’s too many familiar faces to really just “be in and out”. Your favorite items never leave the menu and if they do, and in the event they do, the chef can usually make it for you all the same.

Since opening its doors in 2012, Richmond Station has become a favorite for visitors and locals alike.

Despite there being no Michelin star restaurants in Toronto, there is simply no shortage of high caliber fine dining. Be sure to add these Toronto restaurants to your must-try list when visiting. For more culinary inspiration, also explore Michelin Star Restaurants in Italy For Your Next Trip.
