Switzerland is the heart of precision, luxury watchmaking so it is no surprise that one of largest and most prestigious trade shows in the watchmaking and jewelry worlds happens each year in Basel, Switzerland. Baselworld features renown watchmakers from Switzerland and throughout the world.
Basel, Switzerland

Basel itself sits at the juncture of Switzerland, France, and Germany, and its wonderful culture borrows from all three countries. Because Basel has been a cultural and trade hub for centuries, visitors to Baselworld can expect to be charmed by the city’s restaurants, museums, galleries, shopping, and more. If they can tear themselves away from the trade show floor, that is.
At the Show

Friend of dotLuxury, Billy Ruvelson, attended the 2017 show — allowing us a peek into the future of luxury watches and jewelry. Top watchmakers and brands debut their newest innovations at the show.
Buzziest Releases

Among the buzziest launches of the show was that of Rolex’s new additions to their Oyster and Cellini collections.

Rolex says of the new Sky-Dwellers (seen above):
…The Rolex Sky-Dweller provides the information global travellers need to keep track of time at a glance. Launched in 2012, the Sky-Dweller is a compelling timepiece of revolutionary design that blends to perfection mechanical sophistication and ease of use.

Baselworld dedicates an entire wing of the show to fine jewelry and gems. You will find booths from master jewelers and gem specialists like A. A. Rachminov and Faerber.
