2019 Bentley Continental GT Top 3 Competitors

The 2019 Bentley Continental GT is muscular British luxury done right. The new Continental GT is advertised as being “unmatched” by the makers. Bentley Motors summarizes the changes made to the new and improved 2019 model this way: “With a completely new 6.0 liter, twin-turbocharged W12 engine, a step-change in technology and a truly stunning design language, the new Continental GT is unmatched in its class. This Bentley GT coupé is the quintessential grand tourer – phenomenally powerful, beautifully designed and exquisitely crafted.”

To determine whether the 2019 Bentley Continental GT truly is best in its class, we will examine the competition to see how they rate. Here is a look at the Continental GT’s top three automotive competitors. Keep reading to decide which one is your vehicle of choice.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Sedan

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is already a top of the line sedan and difficult to surpass. Unless it surpasses itself. The Mercedes-Maybach counterpart boasts more space, adding to the ride and comfort of the vehicle. Speaking of comfort, nothing has been spared. The spacious interior holds a variety of passenger conveniences, including massaging and reclining executive rear seats, individual power seats with calf rests, and optional folding tables. Indeed it is a worthy competitor for the 2019 Bentley Continental GT.

The sleek exterior will delight luxury sedan enthusiasts. Mercedes-Benz describes the 2019 S-Class sedan as such: “Visually, the 2019 model instantly cuts a more elevated figure than before. The grille, inspired by a pinstripe suit, strikes a note of sheer exclusivity. A two-tone exterior paint finish — now available in nine different colors — conveys the vehicle´s classic pedigree. An optional double clear coat lends an unsurpassed sense of elegance to darker paint options — with the second coat hand-applied by trained specialists.”

Aston Martin DB11

If you want to feel like the secret agent 007, this is your car. Aston Martin has retooled the DB11, turning up the looks and performance. This luxury sedan blends style with power seamlessly. A 503 horsepower twin-turbo 4.0 liter V-8 is standard, but you can opt for the twin turbo 5.2-liter V-12. This will launch the DB11 from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds. Reports are that the vehicle handles beautifully.

But how does it look? Aston Martin is proud of the new design. This is how they describe the bold exterior of the 2019 DB11: “A fearless design philosophy has led to DB11’s iconic looks. Discover the striking new grille, clamshell bonnet, and innovative Aston Martin Aeroblade™, which cleverly removes the need for a rear spoiler by harnessing airflow to enhance stability.” We might even like it slightly better than the 2019 Bentley Continental GT.

Ferrari GTC4Lusso

Powerful, sporty, and luxurious. The Ferrari GTC4Lusso is an impressive way to get from Point A to Point B and also a worthy competitor for the 2019 Bentley Continental GT. This fairly recent addition to the Ferrari range is a 12-cylinder that seats four. This unique package delivers performance without sacrificing passenger comfort. The number “4” in the vehicle’s name is a nod to the number of seats.

“This is a car designed for clients wanting to experience the exhilaration of Ferrari driving anywhere, anytime, anyhow: short spins and long journeys, snowy mountain roads and city streets, alone or in the company of three lucky passengers. Clients that demand power but refuse to compromise on in-car comfort, sporty elegance, and impeccable detailing,” Ferrari explains.

The 2019 Bentley Continental GT is facing stiff luxury sedan competition from the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the Aston Martin DB11, and the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. All four vehicles offer superior performance that matches the high levels of luxury each car offers. Ultimately, the decision of which is the “best” may come down to personal preference. Which of these luxury cars is at the top of your shopping list and why?
