The new Ferrari Portofino is named after the popular resort town in Italy, which is eponymous with stylish elegance.  A step up from the California Cabrio, the Portofino has a 600 horsepower derivative of the 3.9 liter mounted V-8.  This enables the driver to accelerate from 0-62 mph in a jaw dropping 3.5 seconds.  The Portofino’s top speed is 199 miles per hour.  One of the vehicle’s new features is an all aluminum architecture, which makes the car much lighter, thus able to reach higher speeds.

Inside the Car

Now that we have covered all the exciting specs of the new Ferrari Portofino, let’s take a closer look inside to see what else this promising new luxury car has to offer.

Ferrari encourages buyers to “reach for the stars” with this most versatile model in the range.  Ferrari intends for the Portofino to be driven everyday. This is a vehicle that converts from a coupe to a drop top effortlessly, while delivering superb driving pleasure. The retractable hard top and can be open or shut in just 14 seconds, even while on the move.

With the intentions of every day use, they gave careful attention to the storage space as well as the lifestyle needs of luxury car drivers. For travel, the luggage compartment can accommodate two to three large suitcases, depending on whether the roof is up or down.  The spacious boot can even accommodate your golf clubs. The impeccable attention to design, performance and technology, has resulted in a vehicle that is both fun and functional for drivers.

The Ferrari Portofino design team did not skimp on the on board comfort, which includes a variety of new features.  The infotainment system features a large 10.2″ touchscreen display.  The upgraded air conditioning system guarantees a comfortable ride whether the top is up or down.

The Seats

The seats are electrically adjustable in 18 different ways. In additional to the standard longitudinal seat and backrest adjustment, the Portofino allows the driver to adjust the seat height, angle, the side cushions, as well as the central and lumbar regions of the backrest.   The backrest allows for maximum leg room for rear seat passengers. A new feature that will be much talked about is the wind deflector.  When the top is down on the Ferrari Portofino, the wind deflector will cut air flow inside the cabin by 30% as well as reduce noise.

Attention to Detail

A signature characteristic of Ferrari vehicles is the care that goes into selecting the materials, trim, and assembly of the vehicle’s interior.  Again, this is a car that is not just to be driven, but to be driven and enjoyed every day. Thus, the interior has to be as well thought out as the other aspects of the vehicle.  As the result of a research study, the seats were redesigned to have an innovative magnesium structure.  Changed density padding as well as an ultra compact seat back make the ride more comfortable for both the driver and the rear seat passengers. The passenger has an optional infotainment display which is directly linked to the main screen, providing all information about the car’s performance.

A sale date and price for the Ferrari Portofino have not been set as of this time.  Contact your local Ferrari dealer or keep an eye on the Ferrari website to be the first in line when this beautiful new luxury vehicle is available to the public.
